As a news junkie, I like to not only read the actual newspaper everyday, but I also love to scour the internet for the latest news and the best online news sources. My daily online travels lead me to new and interesting news sites, as well as to some old, reliable favorites.
My first stop in the online world is Google News. I like how they bring together news from sources all over the world, and organize the stories topically. It’s a great place to go especially if you’re hoping to get different perspectives on an issue or story. Another favorite stop of mine is the press release websites. Why wait for a major news company to pick up the story when I can find it out faster myself? The press release sites I like to visit daily are prnewswire.com, businesswire.com, and virtualpressoffice.com.
After I have explored those outlets, I tend to gravitate towards other more traditional sources of reliable news and information, such as Reuters, the Associated Press, and cable news station websites. For local news I like to visit our local newspaper’s website, as well as the websites of the local news stations.
